It's 1:30am and I am fumbling around on this website trying to "learn" how to update our blog. I hope I can do this justice. Of late I have been constantly reminded that everything changes. Small example..me trying to write to each of you. As mentioned before, I have always been in awe of Lindsey Crawford. There is a very long list of reasons..but one that is in the forefront at this moment is her ability to communicate..either verbally or in written form. Me..not so much.
Then I think about my life. Changes every where I look. Most of them are exciting and fun to be part of-like our youngest son in high school. All the opportunities that are coming his way. Learning to drive, school dances, tons of new friends and, being part of "First Priority" a Christian organization that meets weekly at the school. They have had 34 students accept Christ as their Lord and Savior this year. How amazing is that? Looking back at my High School, no one was meeting at lunch to talk about Jesus.
Our house has a revolving door on it for college students. We never know who will be inside when we come home. The students we have met and had the chance to share a piece of their life. To listen to their hopes and dreams. To hear them tell us how God is revealing Himself in their lives. Never before in our ministry have we been so blessed with students this age.
My own two college students who are hungry for God's Word. Each week the book or topic changes. This fact alone brings be humbly before God's throne. He has been so gracious with us.
I have had to ask myself recently, " Do I desire God's Word with that kind of zeal?" Everything changes.
People have often compared life to seasons. Different seasons in our lives will bring different things. As I look at this season of my life, it is one where the changes are not the ones with the WOW factors. They are the ones where God is whispering in my deepest part.."Trust Me." It is the time when I have to begin to let go of my oldest son,Michael, as he graduates from college and sit back and truly become a spectator as God helps him continue to stand tall as a man of God and follow Him. My head has a handle on this..my heart is freaking out.
It is a season when I see my mother starting to change. Age catching up to her when I didn't think it couldn't happen. This is my mom...my friend...my hero. Everything changes.
It is at these times when God sings to my heart, "I never change." It is at these times when the good and the bad come so close together that God reminds me that I need him every hour, Every hour I need him.
Chris Tomlin has a new version of I need thee..called "I Need You". I believe that everything changes so we never forget that we need our Lord and Saviour. That we need that comfort and peace. We need that hope. My life issues are nothing compared to others. I have been blessed beyond measure. It is just time for me to be reminded I need him more than I need anything or anyone else in my life. He has amazing advertures in store for me, as he does each of you...as long as we are willing to change.
I am so excited about this years Women's Ministry. We are having the One Night, One Heart worship service on May 15th. Please join me in prayer as we expect God to change us. Come and come ready to hear from our God!!!
I Need You by Chris Tomlin
Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You, I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart
Lord, I need You, oh I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free, Holiness is Christ in me
Yes where You are Lord I am free, Holiness is Christ in me
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand, I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay
And when I cannot stand, I'll fall on You
Jesus You're my hope and stay
I love you all,
Suzanne

#1 Girl, you CAN write. And I enjoyed reading every letter of it.
#2 Your heart is amazing!
#3 Your willingness to change and to step out of your comfort zone is inspiring. We all can learn a lesson or two from you on that one.
#4 I love the song "Lord, I Need You" by Chris Tomlin. I listen to it almost everyday.
#5 I love YOU. Period!!
Lindsey
