Needing Input

Friends,
The Women's Ministry Team and I are in the midst of planning some fun things for 2010. I so want this ministry to be a source of encouragement to you all.

So, with that in mind, I would totally appreciate it if you could simply reply to this post and let me know some of the issues/topics/event ideas/etc that you think our women could benefit from learning about and/or participating in.

You can choose to reply anonymously if you would like. Either way, please please please just let me hear from you. :)

Thank you so much. I love you all...to pieces!

Lindsey, what types of ladies events are offered in this community? Do we try and keep it local or do we ever try and do something bigger? I think using our locals are the best, but sometimes it's good to bring in someone that travels and speaks nationwide. You can also plan different workshops for the ladies to select from and choose local/volunteer leaders for those workshops. I would love to help you.
Love, Michelle

Lindsey,

Being in school and just finding out about the new baby has put a slight damper on a plan that I have wanted to implement for a very long time. I know this is the year to do it, but now with so much on my plate, I'm definitely going to need help. I feel the Women's Ministry would be a great source of help for me to obtain my goal. As some of you know, I have Lupus (SLE) and I know there are a few other women (but probably many more than I know) that are affected by this disease. It is extremely unpredictable and can even be debilitating at times. My goal for 2010 was to organize some sort of fundraiser for lupus awareness and research. Many people have not even heard of Lupus, so this would be a great way to inform many people. My idea was to organize a Walk for Lupus, and I'm sure Tech wouldn't mind us using their track. I am really new at this organizing thing, especially on such a large scale, so if the women in the Women's Ministry would be interested in helping me see this dream into a reality, I'd greatly appreciate and accept any help that could be given. Lupus is a disease that affects mainly women, so I think this is the best organization in town to work on this task. If you want more information on Lupus, you can visit www.lupus.org, do a google search of lupus, or just ask me. I'd love to answer any questions anyone may have. I do not have a specific "ONE" yet, but I feel this Walk could be a way for many of us to help people in need. I hope this is the right place for this. I was praying this morning for help in finding people to ask for help, then I checked facebook and saw your post about the blog. When I read this post, I knew this was the sign from God that you ladies were the ones I should as for help with this project.

Thanks for listening to my little speech, and if you have any questions or comments, please message me on facebook. I'd love to hear ANY ideas for anyone who is interested in helping with this task.

Thanks again,

Amanda Hollins

I thought of having a painting workshop for one day. We could have someone to teach us to paint a very simple painting on a small canvas. I don't know how that would work with the supplies, etc.or if we could do that. Just a thought.
I will see you at the meeting Wednesday.

Just a thought, but I was thinking maybe a mentor program. Where some of the more "experienced" ladies take on a younger lady and help mentor her. I know that's what I've been looking for :)
